About Me

With a strong foundation in TESOL and TEFL, a BA Ed. in English and Portuguese, and ongoing graduate studies in Teaching English Learners, I specialize in creating inclusive, engaging, and culturally responsive learning environments. My approach blends innovative instructional strategies, real-world communication practice, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by English learners, particularly immigrants. Whether in the classroom or through curriculum development, I am committed to fostering confidence, fluency, and a lifelong love for learning.

📝 Teaching Philosophy

As an ESL educator, I believe that language learning is not merely the acquisition of vocabulary and grammar, but a transformative process that opens doors to new opportunities, cultural understanding, and personal growth. My teaching philosophy is grounded in the conviction that every learner, regardless of background, age, or proficiency, can succeed when provided with the right guidance, resources, and encouragement.

Drawing on more than a decade of experience teaching English to immigrants and international students in diverse academic settings, I prioritize a student-centered approach that integrates language skills with real-world communication. I design my lessons to be practical, relevant, and culturally responsive, ensuring that students not only learn English but also develop the confidence to use it in academic, professional, and social contexts.

I view the classroom as an inclusive space where respect, empathy, and active participation are paramount. By leveraging my bilingual background, intercultural awareness, and formal training — including TESOL, TEFL, and advanced studies in Teaching English Learners — I bridge linguistic and cultural gaps, helping students feel seen, valued, and empowered.

Ultimately, my role as an educator is to inspire learners to see English not as a barrier but as a tool for connection and self-expression. I strive to cultivate lifelong learning habits, equipping students with the strategies, resilience, and motivation needed to thrive far beyond the classroom.
